What is the Maryland Highway Safety Foundation?

That’s a good question. Let’s begin by telling you what we are not. MHSF is not a government agency. It is not an academic think tank.  It’s not a front organization for some nefarious plot against the free world.

The Maryland Highway Safety Foundation is an advocacy and educational organization promoting safe driving policies and practices. The MHSF is comprised of concerned leaders from the business community, government, educational institutions and the world of non-profits.

Why? Safe driving and safe roads translate into saved lives and saved dollars. It’s a very simple concept. Every member of MHSF has a financial incentive to avoid the costs associated with collisions. A prevented collision means you aren’t paying for doctors, lawyers, body shops, car rentals, physical therapy or funerals. And, clean driving records are reflected in lower insurance rates. Sound like a smart business plan?

Anyway, that’s who we are, what we do and why we do it. I could tell you how, but I’ll save that for a later date.  In the meantime check this space in the coming weeks and months as we share items of interest, words of wisdom and keen observations about the latest in the world of highway safety.

So buckle up boys and girls, forget about the cell phone and put your brain in gear: it’s drive time!

TTYL,

Bob
