This is a statewide umbrella campaign for the Maryland State Highway Administration’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP). Traffic safety campaigns including distracted driving, seat belt use, aggressive driving, impaired driving and provide a continuity of traffic safety messaging.  Choose Safety for Life is a wonderful resource to learn more about driving safety facts and statistics in Maryland.



Network for Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS)

A non-profit organization, NETS is an employer-led public/private partnership committed to maintaining the health and safety of employees, their families, and their communities by working to prevent traffic collisions.



National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) www.nhtsa.dot.gov

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration works to reduce fatalities, injuries, and economic losses that are the result of motor vehicle crashes across the US.  Through setting and enforcing the standard for safety performance in motor vehicles, issuing grants to state and local governments to assist them in furthering highway safety programs, and promoting driving safety, NHTSA is among the most informative resources in their field.  


Governors Highway Safety Association  www.ghsa.org

GHSA is a nonprofit association representing the highway safety offices of each of the 50 states as well as Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the US territories.  Providing leadership and representation with the goal of improving traffic safety, GHSA works to influence national policy and continue to enhance program management. 

 

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers www.madd.org

MADD has worked to further their mission of stopping drunk driving, supporting victims of this violent crime, and preventing underage drinking over the course of several decades.

 

FocusDriven  www.focusdriven.org

A group for victims of motor vehicle crashes caused by the use of a cell phone, FocusDriven is an advocacy group that works to make roadways safer for all.  FocusDriven also strives to help victims and their families to share their experiences in a manner that is healing, educational, and promotes safety to the community. 

 

National Organizations for Youth Safety www.noys.org

NOYS is a network of federal agencies and national organizations that collaborate to serve youth and also focus on their safety and health.  Created in 1994, they currently influence more than 80 million young people, and traffic safety is one of the focal points of their program.
